Situated in a cozy corner of Copenhagen in the iconic Nyhavn neighborhood dating back to the 16th century, charming boutique Hotel 71 NYHAVN mixes stylish Danish design with a rustic touch, what creates a special elegance and unique guest experience.
71 NYHAVN HOTEL which found its location in the Red Warehouse from 1805 and the Yellow Warehouse from 1830, is the last building in Nyhavn and has the best view of Copenhagen Harbour.
HISTORICAL PREFACE

For over 200 years, the building of the 71 NYHAVN HOTEL has stood between the frothy spray of the harbor and life along the Nyhavn Canal. The south side of the building offers unparalleled views of many beautiful museum ships and the sound of the water, as well as some of the best views of the city.

Nyhavn, which used to be a shipping trade center in the Baltics and a place for bewildered sailors, filles de joie and daily police patrols, has become a bustling cultural and historical site that is immensely popular with both local and foreign tourists.

It’s worth taking a walk in Nyhavn which surrounds you with the narrow, artistic houses that stand, side by side, as coloured pencils in an unfolded case on one side and the light rocking boats on the other side. Also can continue the walk to The King’s New Square or the shopping area Strøget and experience the capital’s must-sees Amalienborg and Christiania.
CONTEMPORARY TOUCH

Staying at the 71 NYHAVN HOTEL, you can even more feel the spirit of that time, plunging into its mystery and special charm, where big old rustic beams of Pomeranian pine sit side by side with contemporary Danish design influences.

Art-lovers should check out the paintings in the lobby: taken from the owner’s collection, they include pieces by Asger Jorn and other members of the mid-20th-century avant-garde Cobra movement.

The friendly and knowledgeable staff, led by the General Manager Signe Larsen Vazquez will happily recommend the best tourist routes and restaurants, help with theaters and exhibition tickets as well as restaurants bookings, taking care of the best possible stay at the hotel.

“I have been working in the hotel business for many years, and for me the comfort of our guests is the most important thing. Every employee of our hotel, regardless of the position, is always ready to replace another, if required, — tells Signe. — The time of lockdown united us even more and showed that only through joint efforts and working together we will achieve success in our business. Myself, I’m ready to suggest, give advice, conduct a tour of the hotel. I even stood at the reception when needed. In the hotel business, a lot depends on the team. And if our walls could talk, they would tell you stories of hardworking sailors, rattling coins and bags of exotic spices. But since they cannot express in words the life of Nyhavn in two centuries, this mission belongs to us”.
COZY STAY

The old hotel buildings create an authentic frame around 130 Executive rooms and suites. From many of these, you can enjoy a direct view of the dancing water surface of the harbour and fishing boats.

All rooms have large, rough old beams (one of the hotel’s most distinctive features), air conditioning, Nespresso coffee machine, Carpe Diem double beds, bathrobe, slippers and fine toiletries from the Danish brand Karmameju.

The decor in the two buildings is different. Everything in the yellow building is classic, with carpeted floors and darker polished wood. Red building, where all the suites are located, is distinguished by light wood floors, Arne Jacobsen chairs and modern furniture from Danish brands, striped bedspreads from the famous Paul Smith brand.

Sitting on a cozy sofa, it is pleasant to observe the bustling life of the harbor from large panoramic windows.
“GOD MORGEN!”

The old warehouse basement of 71 NYHAVN HOTEL accommodate a morning restaurant: here you cannot only satisfy your hunger for food, but also your hunger for knowledge.

While you fill the plate with everything from omelets and pancakes, made at the live cooking station, to butter pleasant-smelling croissants and sherbet glasses of yoghurt, crunch and berries, you can be an expert on Denmark through stories and historical anecdotes, placed on the buffet.

The hotel staff calls this concept “Morning Stories”.

Breakfast buffet offers lots of healthy options in a style of cozy, homemade breakfast.
ITALIAN EVENINGS

Quite newly opened IL ROSMARINO Restaurant (located in the same area as breakfast) operates an a la carte menu throughout the day.

Signe Larsen Vazquez: “The spirit, chronicle and intimate atmosphere that characterize our location, make you forget the time and the telephone, relax and get into deep conversations. Well, and just enjoy the moment! This atmosphere matches our status as hosts since we want to make sure that you feel comfortable and special. Therefore, we ask about your experiences in the capital and happily share our personal favorites and recommendations regarding all Copenhagen has to offer. That is, maybe, the reason why we were mentioned as ‘sailor hosts’ several years ago… and that title still make us smile”.
