Kempinski Moika 22 is headed by elegant and optimistic General Manager Simon Zaglmann with 20 years of experience in the hotel business. Simon began his career at Kempinski in Berlin, followed by Budapest, Abu Dhabi, Munich, Jakarta, Bangkok, Indonesia. 7 years ago Simon took the post of General Manager at the St. Petersburg hotel on the Moika — according to him, this position for him was the first one at such high level in the hotel business.

General Manager Simon Zaglmann

“St. Petersburg is very close to my heart as well as its atmosphere and mood. I fell in love with this city and this country. says Simon. But, when I was preparing to move here, I confess I did not know what to expect from this place, I had many contradictions and prejudices about life there — “bears, cold, vodka …” (laughs). But when I finally reached this beautiful city, I realized that everything was different. I saw all its charms and now feel comfortable in this rhythm of life from day to day”.

“Difficult times and events that affected the whole world and all spheres of activity gave us the opportunity to stay with our thoughts and understand what each of us can do for ourselves and business. During this period, our team especially rallied and experienced all the moments together. This gave us strength, faith and understanding that only together we can cope with any difficulties and rise to a new level”, — continues, smiling, Simon.

“We have a very close-knit team, we’ve been together for many years and we try to make the service as high as possible so that guests can get the best”, — says Alexandra Karaseva, Concierge Supervisor, Member of Les Clefs d’Or Russia. For any guest we may organize excursions not only to the famous museums of the city, but also help to plan unknown and interesting routes. For example, few people know that in addition to the main collection the Hermitage has a storage facility containing unique collections of antique furniture, jewelry, carriages and costumes. We also organize excursions to the Diamond Pantry which is not so easy to get to. St. Petersburg is a city on the water, and the tours that we offer to Peterhof by the river are also very popular. Gazing the city from the water is a completely different sight”.
