Forrey & Galland, known as one of the most prestigious haute chocolate brands in the world, brought to Dubai the French tradition of luxurious and handmade chocolates and macaroons with a commitment to perfection and freshness in every piece.
The story of Forrey & Galland started in 1912 in Paris, where the brand was originally born, and was considered a high end brand from the very beginning.
The brand was formed by two families, Mr Forrey and Mr Galland, who came together to set up this luxurious chocolate house. From the very start, the concept of the brand was to capture new trends of the time and use them as inspiration to create unique chocolate collections.
The chocolate house had closed its doors in 1951 after the Second World War up until its revival as a family business in 2008, owned by Isabelle Jaouen and her husband Vincent Moret.
“We came together to start a new venture in the UAE after we discovered that there was a gap in the market for high-end, handmade chocolates, — tells Isabelle Jaouen, — we believed there was an open opportunity there to introduce the concept of the French ‘know-how’ of authentic chocolate making to consumers in the region.
We started out by launching a small workshop up until 2008 where we made the decision to open our now iconic retail store located at The Dubai Mall. As we were brainstorming the right name to go forward with, we made a very interesting discovery. Vincent’s father revealed that his family is connected to the Forrey & Galland chocolate house, and this inspired us to revive the brand and take it forward in the UAE.
As the brand grew in Dubai, we went on to acquire a packaging company. It was important to us that all our packaging was done in-house so we could focus on both the quality of our chocolates and the creation of our luxury packaging”.

Forrey & Galland is committed to staying true to French chocolate-making expertise, which it has combined with local flavours in the Middle East to create an exclusive collection to the region.

“We are very particular when it comes to sourcing out quality ingredients for our chocolate flavours, such as our locally sourced spices and flowers as well as our Halwa, which is sourced straight from Oman and our Fresh Leaves on Mint, which is imported from Morocco, — Isabelle continues, — our goal was to use the French ‘know-how’ of chocolate making and combine this with carefully selected ingredients to launch successfully in this part of the world”.
Forrey & Galland’s chocolates that combine flavours from the Arabic and French culture have produced some of the most unusual and unique chocolates in the collection. For example, Omani Halwa is made from a secret recipe involving only the best premium Royal Omani Halwa sourced from a specific little town in Oman that is considered as the best quality Halwa you could find.

Packaging includes everything from the materials, to colours and the patterns of gift boxes, which are all handcrafted with great care and attention to details.

“Something that sets up apart is that we offer customisation, allowing our customers to create their own gift boxes and providing them with the option to select the materials, prints and even personalised engravings. Doing so has allowed us to transform the Forrey & Galland brand into a luxury gifting destination for our customers who are looking for a haute couture experience from beginning to end”, — says Isabelle.
Assorted mini macarons — handmade to perfection, using the freshest ingredients and the most vibrant fillings. While staying true to the French tradition of creating these wonderful pastries, Forrey & Galland chefs have also taken a unique approach by infusing oriental flavours inspired by the local culture.
Forrey & Galland is constantly looking to discover bold new flavors to infuse into chocolates and other products to give its customers a unique tasting experience. It also has a commitment to perfection and excellence and the most important thing to company is the selection of ingredients as well as the passion it puts into producing a high quality product.
One of biggest collections was 2021 Ramadan exclusive gifting collection. Forrey & Galland is constantly on the hunt for new inspiration when it comes to the designs of packaging and this year it was inspired by Persian textiles, designs and patterns to create the blue and gold intricate patterns that ran through the collection.

“We consistently work on creating new recipes and new flavour combinations. The beauty of our chocolates is that we combine and experiment with different ingredients such as Zaatar or Verbena to give us unusual results which we are constantly working to perfect, — says again Isabelle, — the art is in how you combine these unique ingredients together and balance the combination of flavours — that is truly the secret to the know-how of our chocolate making!”

Chocolate has always been considered a prestigious product throughout history and was even once regarded as a luxury product only accessible to the wealthy.
Today, high quality dark chocolate has many wonderful benefits such as being highly nutritious and being a powerful source of antioxidants. It has even been known to increase the production of endorphins which contributes to positivity and good mood and improves concentration and memory.
