DESIGN IN VEINS
The interior of the HYATT CENTRIC GRAN VIA MADRID was originated by the well-known studio López y Tena Arquitectos (LYTA), directed by Pénelope Tena, an architect and interior designer with 20 years of experience in the design of multisensory spaces for various luxury brands in the hospitality industry around the world, always with the aim of surprising and entertaining without losing sight of functionality, branding and aesthetics.
López y Tena draws on different cultural, landscape, architectural and historical elements and references related to Madrid, to engage the hotel spaces with the destination in a historic building.
From top to bottom, the hotel is filled with subtle nods to Madrid’s history, with a special mention to the roof that hides one of the building’s unique treasures, a beam of a historic building damaged during the shelling of the Spanish Civil War that now serves as an art installation symbolizing peace and unity.
Throughout the hotel, unique and valuable architectural elements of the historic building have been preserved, such as the 19th century façades, the entrance portico and the iconic spiral staircase with handmade railings, combined in a harmonious design that also evokes Madrid’s popular culture, artistic icons and local landscapes.
SMART ACCOMMODATIONS
HYATT CENTRIC GRAN VIA MADRID offers 159 rooms, of which 16 suites (2 suites, 14 junior suites and executive suites) with stunning views of Gran Via, decorated with local colors and objects inspired by the popular culture of Madrid, such as guitars, prints in crow’s feet on upholstery and carpets, and iconography by Madrid-based artist Juan Gris.
All rooms have free WI-FI, air conditioning, TV, Bluetooth-enabled electronics, coffee and tea facilities, mini-bar, spacious work areas, furnished terraces.
The bathrooms, made from environmentally friendly materials, have all the necessary bath accessories and premium Beekind perfumes.
LIVING GASTRONOMY
The gastronomic side of HYATT CENTRIC GRAN VIA MADRID symbolizes and reproduces the local lifestyle and spirit, bringing together residents and travelers to recreate the vibrant energy of Madrid, its food, music and atmosphere.
On the ground floor of the hotel is the signature restaurant Hielo y Carbón, which combines Peruvian and Spanish cuisine inspired by Madrid market products.
It has an open kitchen dedicated to charcoal-grilled dishes (Carbón) and a raw food bar, the Hielo section in addition to the Gintoneria with a classy list of signature cocktails that can be enjoyed in the panoramic bars that surround the space.
In the morning, the restaurant serves a breakfast buffet with a large selection of cold cuts, pastries and drinks, including coffee, tea and Spanish Cava.
There is also an à la carte menu, offering guests hot dishes upon an individual order.
Another place of relaxation at the hotel is Ondas vermuteria + lounge, inspired by the music studio and integrated into the reception area and linked to events in the busy streets around Gran Via.
Here you can order cocktails, wine and beer, a carefully selected selection of teas and coffees, as well as a variety of dishes throughout the day. The vermouths reflect the spirit of Madrid music and radio, and also refer to Cadena SER, one of the most famous broadcasters in Spain, whose central studios are located next to the hotel.
One of the hotel’s unique spots is the secret rooftop bar, El Jardín de Diana, where you can enjoy the hustle and bustle of the city center with some of the best views, while enjoying signature gastronomic offerings and carefully selected cocktails.
It has a designed 5 m high statue of Diana, the Roman goddess of the hunt, representing the ties that join the building with the Mexican roots of its owners, the Díaz-Estrada family.
The menu offers a variety of snacks, plates to share, seasonal dishes, refreshing drink and signature cocktail creations.
