THOMPSON MADRID opened in 2022, marking the first Thompson Hotels property in Spain and another milestone for Hyatt as it continues to expand its portfolio of luxury hotels in Spain.
Over the years, Thompson Hotels has endeavoured to capture the finest moments of the past when designing each property, fusing them with the present. Internationally renowned designers combine timeless classics with contemporary elements to bring a layered, high-end residential style to hotel spaces, resulting in an authentic sense of relaxed luxury.
THOMPSON MADRID is located in the heart of the city on Calle De La Montera, which was one of Madrid’s main streets until the early 20th century. The most elegant and neat coffee houses, restaurants and boutiques were located here. To this day, Calle De La Montera remains one of the most lively places in the city, home to a variety of galleries, museums, culinary delights and cultural attractions.
THOMPSON MADRID occupies two historic buildings 10 storeys high, presenting a dynamic and elegant home. The hotel’s rich and sophisticated design was developed by Madrid-based interior design studio López y Tena, who were able to reflect Madrid’s traditional architecture within the walls of the hotel and create interiors that echo the sights, sounds and flavours of the city. Leather, marble and wood accents elegantly blend together to create a sense of timeless design combined with ultra-modern and sophisticated amenities.
Arrived at the property, we were greeted in the lobby, where guests start to get to know the hotel, by hospitable staff who is ready to help with any question regarding not only accommodation and a comfortable stay at the hotel, but also giving helping information and tips for discovering the city. Positioning itself as a cultural institution, THOMPSON MADRID offers guests exclusive access to entertainment throughout the city, including guided tours, art exhibitions and concerts.
ACCOMMODATION
THOMPSON MADRID has 175 rooms, including 22 suites as well as a duplex penthouse with magnificent panoramic views of the city. All rooms have balconies and terraces.
Elegant rooms and suites adhering to all standards of luxury boutique hotel accommodation, designed to make guests feel at home and enjoy their stay.
The interior of each room features parquet floors, beautiful furnishings, and Madrid-style finishes including leather and marble accents.
Art and sculptural fixtures, with smooth, reflective surfaces, blend seamlessly with state-of-the-art technical amenities to create intimacy and comfort. Each room has a unique “Traveler’s Corner”, where you can sit comfortably in a designer chair, relax and “enjoy your journey”.
All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, WI-FI, 55-inch TV with cable channels, minibar, hypoallergenic bedding, bathrobe and slippers. The bathrooms have a rain shower, hairdryer and all necessary toiletries and bath perfumes.
GASTRONOMY
THOMPSON MADRID‘s gastronomic concept is represented by three worthy restaurants and bars located on different floors, offering guests the perfect combination of traditional Spanish specialities with an innovative approach.
In the mornings, delicious À la Carte breakfasts are served in one of the hotel’s restaurants from 08.00 to 11.00.
Breakfast starts with welcome buffet served at your table, with a typical Spanish breakfast, which you can complete by choosing several options.
A selection of eggs, toast, Iberian ham, cheese, yoghurt with granola, vegetable platters, as well as aromatic pastries and breads, freshly baked every morning, as well as sweet specialities such as Churros with Chocolate, Pancakes with Chantilly, Daily Cake and more.
If you want to relax with a glass of wine or cocktail, guests are welcome at the elegant Lobby Cocktail Bar or the Rooftop with unrivalled views of the Madrid, where an inventive menu of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and snacks are served.
In addition, the hotel has six meeting rooms for all kinds of events and meetings, a fitness centre and a magnificent rooftop pool with hydromassage system.
