THROUGH HISTORY
Arriving in Lisbon in early 1700, João Federico Ludovice was commissioned to realize the architectural desires of King João V. Looking for a place to build a private residence for himself and his descendants, he found the ideal place in the mythical Bairro Alto.
The facade of the hotel consists of 5 floors of different heights and sizes with a large central door decorated with pilasters, stone-framed windows, balconies with beautiful views, blue and white tiled walls of the 18th century, a chapel with Masonic symbols and a Hebrew inscription, palace halls with stucco ceilings and majestic staircase.
It was the first palace of its kind, occupying an entire block, which was later transformed into a stylish hotel under the direction of the architect and designer Miguel Câncio Martins, internationally recognized for emblematic projects such as the Buddha Bar in Paris, the Opium in London, and for hotels such as Quinta da Comporta in Portugal.
Under his care, the original white-and-blue tiles from the 18th century, its fresco paintings and stucco ceilings were preserved, and a new and palatial accommodation arose, marking the beginning of a new era in this historical landmark.

SUITE — spacious and bright — flooded with light from tall windows, this room includes a master bedroom with a king-size bed, a living room with a sofa bed, TV and a work desk. The interior is decorated with ceramics of the famous Portuguese brand Bordallo Pinheiro.

The Courtyard of PALÁCIO LUDOVICE, with its sophisticated atmosphere, rich greenery, art and books, is a favorite meeting place for gourmets, wine connoisseurs, creative minds and cheerful people.
The interior of the restaurant, assignably called FEDERICO, is dominated by natural tones, wicker furniture echoes green velvet sofas and armchairs, lamps in the form of grape clusters that also frame mirrors — symbols of the wine hotel concept.
In the morning, leisurely buffet breakfasts are served here under Glass Ceiling, inviting for a relaxed meal on green velvety sofas.
Assortment offers local delicacies, both sweets and savory, cold and hot dishes, a wide variety of pastries, various cold & hot drinks, fresh juices and immune shots, sparkling wine.
In the evening, the restaurant becomes a lively place for meetings, parties and events with service worthy of a palace.
Here you will be offered creative dishes ispired by Mediterranean cuisine, from Monksfish Carpaccio with Passion fruit & Lime to Beef Tartare or Foie Gras with Pistachio, served with Brioche and Onion Chutney.
