LEGEND OF THE PALACE
TIVOLI PALÁCIO DE SETEAIS is located on the slope of Sintra Mountain, offering beautiful views of the Moorish Castle and Pena Palace.
With its endless treasures, Sintra is a natural oasis nestling in the heart of the Sintra-Cascais Nature Reserve. Sintra is magical and romantic, with the mazes and gardens of the esoteric Quinta da Regaleira and the town’s many antique shops, rich in memories of its former days as the Royal Families’ Summer resort.
The residential palace was built in 1787 by the former Dutch Consul in Portugal. Several noble Portuguese families lived here before it became a hotel in 1955.
Extensive restoration was carried out in 2009. Light, elegant interiors mix frescoed walls, some attributed to French painter Jean Baptiste Pillement, with chandeliers, rich silks and 18th-century antiques.
