Way Bakery & Wine Bar — a café-bakery and wine bar serving appetizing signature breakfasts, lunches, bread & fresh pastries and natural organic wines all day.
Way Bakery & Wine Bar is located next to Karhupuisto Park in Kallio area in Helsinki.
Way Bakery & Wine Bar was opened by restaurateurs Lauri Kähkönen and Toni Kostian together with Toni Feri (Let Me Wine) and Lauri Pipinen (Good Life Coffee), with the support of Grön restaurant (Michelin 1 *).

“Toni and I had the idea to open a complex bakery and cafe where we could bake our own bread, which will also be used in Grön — it has such a small space that makes impossible to bake bread in the spot”, — Lauri says. “Now there is fresh and crispy bread in Grön every day”.
This small, homely warm and casual place has become so popular that visitors often have to wait in line to get to the table. The outdoor terrace operates all year round, so for those who are not afraid of cold weather there is always a place to drink hot coffee or warm Glögg.
The passion of Way Bakery as well as its visitors is sourdough bread that can be enjoyed on the spot or as “take away” (8.50 €).

“We are very proud of our bread”, — Lauri continues, “we have our regular customers who come to buy fresh bread every morning”.
It is served both in complex breakfasts and separately — with butter, comté cheese, homemade ham and egg — Hapanjuurileipä (12 €), without ham (9 €).
The Vegan option is also interesting — celeriac “cold cut” with mushroom and koji butter (11 €).
Moreover, in both servings a piece of bread is so thick and hearty that one would be enough to satisfy your hunger.
In addition to crunchy bread, you can order Yogurt with homemade apple granola, cinnamon flavored apple jam and bee pollen (6 €).
Delicious Rice porridge with crushed almonds as cinnamon (€ 7) can be tasted during Christmas time — one of the main favorites among the Way’s visitors.
Each time the “Fruit” item of the menu wins the hearts of gourmets with its simplicity and genius — like pleasantly mouth-scorching Persimmon wedges with honey, salt and chili pepper (5 €).
If you are looking for a cup of coffee, then you should definitely order the signature dish Köyhät riitarit (11 €) — sourdough French toast with vanilla-oat cream, poppy seeds and blueberry jam.
Or the fresh baked goods that Way Bakery always offer, like Almond croissant.
Seasonal baked goods such as the Christmas Tart (Joulutorttu) are also in great demand. All of them are also sold to take away.
“For each season we change the assortment of pastries”, — says Lauri, “after the Christmas desserts, everyone is craving for beloved Runeberg’s Tart, then during the spring the Easter ones”.
For any breakfast or lunch guests will be offered coffee, tea, cocoa, freshly squeezed juices, lemonades, and in winter-time — Glögg mulled wine based on white / red wine or non-alcoholic. And the Finnish-made Kombucha by Kellaripanimo (6.5 €) gained its popularity among visitors, will go perfect with any meal.
In the afternoon, you can drop in Way for lunch, which is offered from 11.00 to 14.00 from Tuesday to Friday. And in the evenings enjoy light snacks with the same famous slice of branded bread and a glass of wine or beer.
The Way Bakery & Wine Bar has a special showcase, from which you can also buy coffee in beans (upon request it will be ground immediately), as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
