Urtekram is a brand owned by Midsona Finland Oy, part of Midsona group of companies. Urtekram was founded 1972 in a small shop in Copenhagen, where compassion for the environment and fellowship grew strong. Today company products can be found throughout the Nordic countries and Europe but also in various corners of the world.
Urtekram production is located in the picturesque Marijager in Jutland, Denmark. It produces organic food in the half-stock and frozen food categories, personal care & beauty products, as well as food for people with allergies, including lactose and gluten-free products.
For Urtekram, ecology is its heart. In the early 1990s, as ecology started to grow, especially in the big cities of Denmark, Urtekram was one of the first brands to seriously consider adding organic items to its core range.
An important factor of the company is constant control over reducing the environmental impact at all stages of the production chain, from the individual farmer to packaging materials and product transportation. The packaging of all products was developed in Sweden in cooperation with the head of Nordic Organic.

The Coconut series is represented by a variety of different items made from this wonderful nut, rich in fatty acids, antioxidants and minerals.

In 1980, company representatives traveled to Turkey to discuss organic farming with local farmers. It was especially important that dried fruit producers stop using toxic sprays.
