For this Easter Nicolas Cloiseau — head chocolatier of the famous La Maison du Chocolat Paris — with his feet on the ground and head in the cosmos, explores the mysteries of the only planet able to cultivate chocolate — Planète Chocolat.
Revealing the story of taste and rare terroirs of chocolate in a whimsical, most eco-friendly and gourmand way possible.
His main assistants in this adventure are Captain Ecuador, Pilot Peru and Agent Jamaica.
La Maison du Chocolat is the French “haute chocolate brand” of luxury chocolates with over 30 flavors, including seasonal handcrafted creations using the finest cocoa beans from around the world. La Maison du Chocolat is located in Paris and has boutiques in Hong Kong, New York, Tokyo, Kuwait, Seoul and Macau.
“At La Maison du Chocolat, the obvious taste of chocolate can be measured to the nearest percentage. We process the best cocoa to reveal it in chocolate products that weigh only a few grams”, — says Nicolas Cloiseau, who has worked at La Maison du Chocolat since 1996.
“It is that balance, those characteristics of cocoa and exceptional ingredients that create our signature chocolate. Good chocolate is the result of close collaboration with the source. This allows me to work with the best cocoa varieties and thus have a consistency of flavors, which means that the taste in the mouth will last the same as it does with wine”.
In search of a chocolate adventure that never ends, Nicolas Cloiseau for Easter 2021 created a unique collection of superheroes Captain Ecuador, Pilot Peru and Agent Jamaica, “on their flying eggs exploring the secrets of the only planet where chocolate grows”, fascinating with their charm and causing sincere emotion and admiration.
“The Easter collection is intended for both children and adults, so it should be delicious, fun and original at the same time. I started this year by observing that we are definitely the only planet in solar system where cocoa grows, so during this Easter period “aliens” come to us because they want to learn about the traditions of egg hunting”, — smiles Nicolas Cloiseau.
This “chocolate crew” is created from exquisite cocoa varieties of pure South American origin: 39% PERU PURE MILK, 66% ECUADOR PURE BLACK AND 70% JAMAICA PURE BLACK. Each Easter superhero is handmade and has its own unique taste.
Captain Ecuador — dark chocolate with roasted and caramelized crushed hazelnuts.
Pilot Peru — organic milk chocolate with roasted caramelized crushed pecans.
Agent Jamaica — dark and milk chocolate with roasted and caramelized crushed hazelnuts.
Nicolas Cloiseau: “Every day is a reason for creativity! I am inspired by everything that surrounds me: the color of the painting, the taste of the dish, meeting artistic people, memories of travel. The creation of any product is a long and painstaking process that requires a lot of time to think over each idea to the smallest detail. And delicious and high-quality chocolate contributes to our well-being and happiness”.
The price of each egg is 35 €, weight is about 105g.
