HOTEL U14, AUTOGRAPH COLLECTION: Rendezvous with a Favorite Place
Located in the heart of Helsinki, just a few steps from the central Esplanadi Park and the famous Kauppatori Market Square, HOTEL U14 is a modern family-run boutique hotel with a cosy atmosphere, inspiring décor and top-class service that makes it a cozy “home” during your stay in the city.

We’ve stayed at this hotel before, and when planning a new trip to the capital of Finland, we do not hesitate to experience it again.
The hotel provides everything for a comfortable holiday — spacious and beautiful rooms (117 rooms and suites of different categories), pleasant conference halls, high-quality restaurant, original cocktail bar, sauna and gym.
ROOMS & SUITES
This time we stayed in the main Corner Suite, located on the top floor of the hotel, with panoramic windows and magnificent sea views to admire while relaxing in the living room area.
The suite also has a separate bedroom, a premium bathroom with shower and bathtub, and all the necessary amenities and accessories for a comfortable stay.
VERSION DINING
The restaurant VERSION is located on the ground floor of the hotel and in the mornings it serves an appetising buffet breakfast with a wide range of cold and hot dishes, fresh pastries, fruits and vegetables and a variety of beverages.
On weekends, the early breakfast is transformed into a Slow Breakfast or VERSION Brunch, which can be enjoyed leisurely with family or friends.
There is also an a la carte menu available, and American Pancakes and Avocado Toast are a must-try here.
In the evening VERSION transforms into a very atmospheric place serving meat, fish and vegetarian dishes with a Californian accent, cooked in a charcoal oven.
The restaurant’s new brand chef Erno Kemi, like his predecessors, adheres to Version’s established tradition that great food and a good time should bring joy. A big focus according to the chef is made on sustainability and maximising the use of seasonal and local produce.
VERSION offers both À la carte and Tasting set menu of three courses (classic and vegetarian), which in turn include 6 starters, a main course and a dessert.
We are very fond of vegetarian dishes, but this time we favoured the classics.
Snacks:
-Sourdough & molasses bread and butter
-Salted cucumber, pickled melon, chilli
Starters:
-Asparagus salad, pistachio praline, orange tapioca
-Grilled carrot, Padron pepper, black garlic
-Kingfish sashimi, ‘leche de tigre’, grapes
Main course:
-Wood fired fish of the day (Kingfish), cauliflower-wild garlic puree, lemongrass beurre blanc
We decided to replace a dessert with a cheese platter.
-Cheese plate 1 pc/ 2 pcs/ 3 pcs
The restaurant’s wine list features rich Californian flavours and classic wines from continental Europe.

Before or after dinner, don’t forget to stop by the VERSION Drinkery Bar, located next to the restaurant, which serves top-notch cocktails inspired by recreations of classic cocktails from around the world.
