The famous Marski by Scandic hotel has always attracted the guests of beautiful capital of Finland not only with its most central location in the city, but also with its extraordinary history.
Part of the historical heritage is preserved in the name MARSKI, which means the abbreviated name of the Marshal of Finnish Army and the sixth president of the country, Karl Gustav Mannerheim.
Marski’s Weekend
Since the very beginning, Marski has been considered one of the most fashionable and iconic places in Helsinki. Celebrities, politicians, business people stayed here.

While enjoying the concert program as well as on any other evening starting from 17.00, you can pamper yourself with a glass of wine, the famous craft beer from the Fiskars area or signature cocktails from the hotel’s chef bartender Samppa Kangasjärvelä.
In front of your eyes, Samppa will masterly prepare any cocktail you like, telling about its features.
“In cocktails preparation, besides well-known world alcohol brands I use many Finnish drinks, which are gaining momentum in popularity every year”, —tells Samppa. — For example, many cocktails for our cocktail card I’ve developed with the base of cranberry flavored Finnish Bitter Carillo. Carillo gives a pleasant tangy taste and bright color”.
Carillobaldi — based on Carillo, orange juice and lemon, served with an orange slice.
The Gooseberry cocktail is an another one of Carillo cocktails. But here it is complemented by gooseberries, lavender and sparkling wine — so-called Spritz.
The Cranberry cocktail which contains another Finnish alcohol spirit — Ägräs gin — is also in great demand. Rich in cranberry flavor with a touch of white chocolate.
Any cocktail has a price of 14 €.
The refreshing Cucumber-Pea mocktail is one of non-alcoholic variations of the bar (€ 9.5). A dewy mix of cucumber, coconut and green peas.
Breakfast with Mannerheim
Marski pays special attention to the morning kitchen. Kuusi Palaa restaurant located on the ground floor of the hotel serves one of the best breakfasts in Helsinki.
Everyone will find here their favorite morning options: meat & fish cold cuts, vegetables, fruits, famous “Marski puuro” (oatmeal porridge), yoghurts, smoothies, juices, always fresh bread and pastries, as well as hot crispy waffles which each guest can prepare on their own at a special Waffle-station.
There is also a special corner with gluten-free and lactose-free products.
However, in addition to the buffet assortment, you can also have a quick breakfast with cup of aromatic coffee at the historic cafe 7.01, whose name is closely associated with the name of Marshal Mannerheim: this time he was usually served his favorite morning coffee. At 7.01, you can also buy branded coffee packages with this legendary figure.
In memory of the weekend in Marski by Scandic, there is a small shop at the hotel’s reception where you can buy a souvenir with the symbols of the hotel or the famous cafe 7.01 (mugs, bags, candles, sweets, perfumes).
Jouko Puranen: “Despite the difficult times we remain on a positive wave, work with great enthusiasm and make every effort to ensure that guests will remember the time spent in our hotel and return to us again”.
