“I started my career in my native Australia as a chef at Aria restaurant in Sydney and later at Vue du monde in Melbourne. At 21, I moved to the UK and worked for Gordon Ramsay Restaurants for 15 years, starting with Claridge’s and moving on to RESTAURANT GORDON RAMSAY, — says Matt. — Working with Gordon all these years is a great honor for me, which I cherish every day. From the moment I started my journey in this project, our relationship with Gordon in terms of interaction has blossomed greatly. I do not look at him as a boss — he is a friend, a mentor, a father in some sense. He helped me to grow personally and define my culinary character through his advice and recommendations.”

“Gordon himself has come a long professional way, sometimes falling, making mistakes, so now he is trying to keep us away from such failures in our experience. Being Chef Patron of RESTAURANT GORDON RAMSAY is a great responsibility, but also a great pride. The restaurant has been holding 3 Michelin stars for 22 years, which is the result of hard teamwork, the achievements of people both working here now and before.”

“RESTAURANT GORDON RAMSAY has never stood still, it’s constantly evolving. Throughout the years of work, while still maintaining the DNA of the cuisine, Gordon himself has never held us back, always encouraging us to express our individualities — continues Matt. — And for all of us, this is a very special and unique opportunity to work with a person who allows people to freely express themselves. And the result is a gourmet restaurant that takes you on a journey of flavors, a journey of life experiences, childhood memories, vivid moments.”

Matt Abé: “I draw inspiration from a variety of sources, whether it’s food I’ve eaten recently or cookbooks, I have a solid collection of them. I think it’s important to always stay open-minded and keep learning, analyzing what has been done and trying to make it even better. Same here, we never stop learning and improving. Even when we see our guests satisfied with the food and the ambience, we continue to think about how to enhance their experience with us and make it even more memorable.”
